Prompt #39Trimester 3
Prompt 39: The "I'm Due in 2 Weeks" Final Prep List
When to use it
You're 36-38 weeks and you want a real "get your life in order" list — not 50 things, but the ones that actually matter before baby arrives.
The Prompt
I'm [N] weeks pregnant and baby could come any time. I want a final prep list that's actually doable in 1-2 weeks.
My current state:
- Hospital bag: [E.G., "packed" / "half-packed" / "haven't started"]
- Nursery/gear: [E.G., "completely set up" / "functional but not pretty" / "we co-sleep, no nursery"]
- Meals: [E.G., "freezer fully stocked" / "I have some" / "nothing prepared"]
- Pet/kid arrangements: [E.G., "no pets, no other kids" / "1 dog walker lined up" / "1 toddler with grandparent schedule"]
- Work: [E.G., "I've wrapped up" / "I'm going until 39 weeks" / "I haven't told them yet"]
- Documents: [E.G., "birth plan done" / "insurance pre-auth done" / "I don't have these"]
- Partner: [E.G., "ready and informed" / "needs a refresher" / "panicking"]
Please give me:
1. The 10 things I actually need to do this week (the "if I do nothing else" list)
2. The 5 things I think I need to do but can actually skip
3. The 3 things I should NOT do (energy-wasters)
4. A day-by-day plan for the next 7 days (realistic, 1-2 hrs/day max)
5. The "what if baby comes tomorrow" minimum viable prep
6. The emotional prep (because logistics are easier than feelings)
7. The "right after birth" first-72-hrs plan
Important: Help me feel ready, not behind.Example output
*"Must-do this week: (1) Hospital bag packed, (2) Car seat installed (have it inspected at fire station if unsure), (3) Pediatrician confirmed + first appointment scheduled, (4) Postpartum support lined up (meals, help), (5) Birth plan 1-pager done, (6) Work handoff documented, (7) Pet/kid logistics confirmed, (8) Freezer meals (5-7 dinners), (9) Document your passwords/bills for partner, (10) Take a 'last bump' photo. Skip: nursery perfectionism, buying more stuff, deep-cleaning every surface. Don't do: massive home projects, taking on new commitments, doom-Googling. Day-by-day: Day 1 hospital bag, Day 2 freezer meals, Day 3 work handoff, Day 4 birth plan + pediatrician, Day 5 birth preferences walkthrough with partner, Day 6 rest, Day 7 whatever's left."*
